Wall-Mounted Transmitters
Bed Station with push button call cord (VIBS) and Pull Cord (VIPC)
Operates Wirelessly
This bed station is wireless, which means that it can be wall-mounted, or installed directly on a bed and the bed could be moved within the room without having to disconnect or reconnect anything.
A wireless pull cord is also available to wall mount in resident bathrooms and in common areas, for example, the dining room or the activities room.
Calling for help
To call for help, residents can press a call cord button, just like in a normal hospital bed. The push button call cord connects into the bed station as shown above. To activate the pull cord, they can either push down the red ‘emergency’ panel or pull the cord.
Call bells light up – for peace of mind
An LED indicator will light up on the call stations to reassure residents that their call for help went through.
Safety feature – when cord is unplugged
Should a call cord get disconnected accidentally from a bed station, a message will be transmitted to a pager to alert the staff – to ensure that the bed station returns to good working order.
Room 3 Bed Cord Out
To reset an alarm
To clear an alarm on a bed station, you press the red button on the call cord station back up three times. On a pull cord, you slide the red panel on the face of the call
Alarms repeat – and notify when reset
All our pull cords and bed stations can send repeat pager messages, for example every three minutes until alarms are reset – to ensure that no alarm is missed and that residents are looked after in a timely manner.
When an alarm is reset, another message will be sent to the pagers to advise other staff members – to let them know that the call for help has been looked after, saving them steps and time, and perhaps allowing them to complete their attendance on a resident without hurry.
Back Box
These wireless call stations can be surface mounted with a back box or installed over an existing single gang box. A back box is available for surface mount installation of these call stations where there is no existing gang box in the wall.
Call bells are supervised – with low battery notification
All our call bells are supervised, with “Low Battery” notifications to the pagers. These features are very cost effective for a facility, saving maintenance or nursing staff from having to check each call station regularly to ensure that they are all functional.
Whenever the battery gets low in a call station, messages displaying “Low Battery” will be transmitted to the pagers to alert you.
A very distinctive Pull Cord
Wireless Pull Cord (DPC)
- A resident can either press the call button or pull the cord to activate a call for help. The transmitter will light up to confirm the activation.
- It operates like the portable call buttons – you can clear an alarm by swiping a magnet over top of the push button.
- This pull cord also has a sealed surface, making it easy to clean.
- It can easily be wall mounted – it comes with its own surface mount backing, requiring no need for a backbox.
- Like all our transmitters, it lights up when activated, it has low battery notification, and the battery is replaceable.
Hospital favorites
Bed Station with push button call cord (CPBS) and
Pull Cord with button (CPPC)
Among our customers, some hospitals have installed these call stations on beds deployed in hallways to provide coverage for patients where emergency room overflow exists. Others use these wireless call stations to complement their nurse call systems when certain areas had failed or to repurpose an area or a wing to provide long term care services when these facilities cannot do so.
Hospices and facilities who provide care for traumatic brain injury residents especially like these for their ‘staff needs assistance’ feature when more than one caregiver is called for.
Magnetic contact for long term use
These pull cords are the easiest to activate, with a light pull downward or from any angle.
As for the facility, they are also cost effective because the cord functions with a magnetic contact, resulting with less wear and tear on the call station vs. the traditional pull cords which function by means of a pull-down switch.
Uniquely our own with “Staff Needs Assistance”
These call stations have a unique and added benefit of a “Staff Needs Assistance” feature. If upon reaching a resident, the caregiver needs help from colleagues, he/she can press the top left ‘hidden’ button of the call station to summon immediate assistance without having to leave the resident’s bedside. A message would be sent to the pagers, for example:
Easy to clean, anti-microbial coating
The call stations are sealed with a polycarbonate surface providing scratch and puncture resistance. They also have an easy-to-clean surface with an anti-microbial coating – to help prevent infections and maintain good health for your residents.
Low battery and expiry notification
These pull cords and bed stations provide an added feature. Low battery messages will repeat until the battery is nearly expired, then a ‘Shutdown’ message will be transmitted to the pagers, alerting you with advance notice that the call station will shortly be no longer functional.
Easy to install and retrofit
These call stations come with their back cover for a simple and quick installation, requiring no need for a gang box. Once wall-mounted, you simply slide down the call station in place. To replace the battery, simply slide up the cover to reach the battery behind.
A mounting plate is available to install the bed station and the pull cord station when wishing to cover a previously installed hard-wired call station over a single or double gang box.
Other notifications
As with all our transmitters, these call stations provide an LED indicator which will light up to confirm that the call for help went through, as well as repeat pager messages, alarm reset notification, and a cord out alarm.
To reset an alarm
Alarms on these call stations are cleared by pressing the green ‘cancel’ button.
